2000 is the 5th year since Active Worlds came into existence (at first AlphaWorld prior to 1996). May also be known in some cases as year 5 in Active Worlds.

  • Horizon City is founded by Sirqus.

March

• March 23
  • Horizon City got its 100:th builder.

July

• July 9
  • Palm Grove, SW City's second subcommunity, is founded by Captain MAD Mike.
  • Oceanside, SW City's third subcommunity, is founded by MrJohn.
• July 10
  • The first version of the SW City Website is launched. It features orange colours with a street sign navigation bar.

August

• Oceanside, a subcommunity of SW City, is destroyed after a fight over a cheese log. >_<

September

• September 10
  • James River, SW City's fourth (but third extant) subcommunity, is founded by SW Chris.
