Metroway

Metroway is a public transit agency operating for the city of Sedan. The agency currently operates a bus network, active since March 1, 2009, and will also run a subway network and ferries that are planned for a near future. A prototype subway line has been built in the southwest area of the city where the future subway program using movers is being tested.

History

Metroway was first founded and planified in 2006 few months after Sedan's foundation but became officially effective when the first bus line service, Line 8 Central District Loop, have been launched on March 1, 2009.

Bus

The Bus network of Sedan is currently counting 4 lines operating mostly in the southern Districts of the city mainly in Central District and Albizia Beach. The X5 line is currently the only one extending outside these areas by making a direct link from Central Square in Central District all the way to Sedan International Airport.

Subway

Central Station built in the core sector of Sedan is one of the planned stations already built for test.

Even though the city currently has no subway service, it has been intented that Sedan would have its own subway system since the beginning. Metroway alongside with JVP Development are running tests with movers for subway transportation and maps of the future subway lines have been suggested.

Test Zones

The first temporary installations that Metroway is using to test the subway system have been built in an undeveloped area in the west end of Pacific District above the ground. Later, the agency moved some of their developments under the ground where what could probably be part of a future line structure that have been built under the southern part of the city and that is currently being used as a prototype line. Though subject to future modifications, the prototype line X uses similar paths of one of a potential planned subway line for the future network. The structure is currently composed of a tunnel going from Central District's extreme east, Naya St, all the way to the future esplanade of Albizia Beach, and stations that have been designed and intended for the future subway structures have been placed at many points along its trajectory.
