Wishlist Portal

Welcome to the ActiveWiki Wishlist Portal. This is a one-stop shop for any user wishing to make suggestions or wishes about the development of the Active Worlds Browser or Universe. The left column concerns the process of making a wish, and the right concerns Wishlist Help. PLEASE NOTE that the voting system on this page is currently NOT FINALIZED and will likely change before wishes are archived in this area.

Wishlist Discussion

* Wishlist Forum

The first step in having a wish peer-reviewed is to make the wish. Wishes can be created by posting a new topic on the Official Active Worlds Discussion Forum as listed above.

During this stage wishes can be commented on by other members of the community—this is so that ideas can be further developed and worked out through mutual discussion. Be sure to be courteous and take constructive criticism!

The Process

Wishes that have been sitting in the wishlist forum for at least a day may be brought to the wiki for voting and processing.

Placing a Wish on the Wiki

Wishes brought to the wiki are to be included on the Current Wishes page for at least two weeks for voting. The page also has simple instructions to follow that will create your suggestion page that you may begin editing.

A template of a wish has been created here for those seeking further information.

Voting

Any user of the ActiveWiki may vote to keep or kill a wish. Each wish has a section immediately below it where a thread of discussion ((similar to talk pages)) is held regarding the vote.

During Voting

Voting Rules
Votes must be numbered, justified, signed, and timestamped.
# Vote - justification ~~~~

Votes that do not conform to the above may be struck by any user as they are invalid.

The only valid votes are Keep, Kill, Spam or Dupe. If you wish to abstain from voting, do not vote. Comments are allowed.

  • Users should not edit other users comments during the voting phase.
  • Users may comment on other users votes if they have questions. If the comment isn't specific to the actual vote, the best place for the comment may be that user's talk page or another means of private messaging.
  • Users may not user multiple accounts to inflate vote counts.

After Voting

The wish will be archived on the wiki following the two week voting period. Wishes can be archived in three area:

Wishes pass the voting stage by achieving a 2/3rds majority of users who vote to keep the suggestion.

Wishes are archived as undecided if they achieve a 1/2 majority but don't meet the 2/3 requirement.

Wishes are archived as peer rejected if they do not meet at least 1/2 majority.
