WikiProject: Documentation is a collaboration initiative to help improve the software documentation for the browser and servers on ActiveWiki. This WikiProject should only cover certain aspects of documentation and articles on the wiki, such as:

  • Feature pages
  • Browser navigation (menus, dialogs, settings)
  • Troubleshooting (guides on solving common problems such as voice chat not working)

Rationale

The on-wiki help pages for the browser are currently sparse, with some pages being a near-exact copy and paste of the AWI help files, which they themselves are incomplete or could use improvement. For example, the Browser page is a copy of this help page, which is written like an advertisement and is out of context.

Goals

This wikiproject is in preliminary stages; please add/amend/remove goals as you see fit.
  • Write up documentation for each and every feature available in the browser, from the Options menu to the aworld.ini file
  • Rewrite pages such as browser that were copied over from the help files
  • Ensure pages for features such as build commands contain images and diagrams to both assist visual learners and show examples
  • Write up troubleshooting guides to help solve common issues
