Government of the Commonwealth of Rockford is the state government in the Commonwealth of Rockford. It came into existence following the statehood in year of 2004.

The chief executive officer of the state is Governor. The legislature of the state consists solely of State Senate with three seats divided among districts. It is presided over by either Lt. Governor or Senate President who may be also member of the Senate.

Current Governor of the Commonwealth of Rockford is Legion since 2004. Current Lieutenant Governor of the Commonwealth of Rockford is GC since his appointment by Governor Legion to the office on October 7th, 2009 and was later terminated on December 4th, 2009 for his abusive behavior. He was then replaced on same day by Legolas who later resigned and GC was subsequently reinstated as Lieutenant Governor of Rockford on January 17th, 2010 and sworn in on January 20th, 2010. Kapara was appointed as Acting Secretary of State for the Commonwealth of Rockford on January 17th, 2010 and sworn in on January 20th, 2010.

The constitution of the state has yet to be put into written form but that is expected to change in near future.

By law, there is distinction between unincorporated and incorporated areas. Incorporation status is automatically granted to those existing cities, towns, and villages already in existence by the date of statehood (July, 2004). However, for areas to become incorporated as either cities, towns, or villages, it must meet certain requirements. No statute has been enacted to define a village so it is unknown how one populated place may legally qualify as a village, despite the mention of village by the provision of still-unwritten constitution that governs the local government. However, a statute has been passed by the State legislature to clarify that town is defined as a populated place with population of two. Another statute passed requires that for town to become a city, it must have population of at least ten before it may be allowed to reincorporate legally as a city.

More to be added here in future.
